This book gives life lessons as looking through the lense of David, and is great for anyone who enjoys reading about King David’s struggles and triumphs. Whenever God’s presence is withdrawn from us, when the Holy Spirit is taken away, that man’s life becomes hopeless. He becomes bitter, afraid to talk to people, go anywhere, and shuts himself up in his house. I have been through such a season like this and nothing can help but submerging yourself in the Word and prayer. A spouse, parent, or friend’s support is needed. But, it takes the Holy hand of God to pick you up. The burdens of life press you down to the point you doubt God, and those that love you. God has a purpose for your life. You have to be repentant and open to listen when He speaks to you. If you take things into your own hands it will only lead to disaster. I have learned I must be still and wait. I have spent many sleepless nights worrying and praying. But, when your issues are left in God’s hands, it becomes easier. But giving them to Him and taking them back will only create a perpetual negative cycle in your life. It is only at the foot of the cross where you can be forgiven and become united with Christ. How are you with your personal life? Do you talk with God? Do you give your testimony and witness to people? As a Christian man, we must be like David and repent often and seek guidance from God continually.
