What did I learn from the book? I would be remised to not only talk about God as my spiritual father and leave out the man he made my earthly father. My dad is more than the person responsible for raising me. He is my close friend. I have learned so many valuable lessons from him that has helped me succeed in life. I appreciate him always being there from basketball games to every night at the supper table. He has always been there for me. Dad, I love you.
Even though we have earthly parents, we also have God’s DNA running through our veins. You too can have this same DNA all you have to do is receive Him and believe in His name. This spiritual DNA brings new dimensions of structure for your character, for your coping mechanisms, for your patterned responses –new building block for your very soul. Our parents natural DNA is still part of us, but thanks to Christ, we are no longer bound by our old sinful nature, Jesus has set us free.
How will I use this book in the future? In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are called a new creation. I am so glad my old self has passed away and a new life has begun. I am going to keep studying the Word and nurturing my relationship with God because He is where the joy is!
