- What did I learn form the book? When some people come into your life, they just bring their bodies–they bring their spirits. There are basically tow kinds of people: flesh people and faith people. Flesh people tear you down and feed your fears, while faith people build you up and feed your faith. Think of the personal pain that could be prevented if we knew how to avoid unhealthy relationships. This doesn’t mean flesh people are bad, it just means they don’t belong in your inner circle. It has taken me a while to learn this. I wish I had my wife’s sixth sense about people. We must surround ourselves with people who fill our lives instead of draining them. Faith people draw you closer to be the person God has created you to be. They are the ones who will be lovingly honest with you and strong when you are weak. Have you noticed some people bless you when they come into your life; and, some others bless you when they exit your life. Use every ounce of wisdom and discernment to find such people.
One of God’s primary purposes for your life is proper placement. Being in the right place at the right time is an important key to discovering God’s will for your life. A wrong place is any place where you know your Christian walk is compromised. When we stay out of the wrong places, we protect our integrity. A good rule to follow is, “If Christ wouldn’t, you shouldn’t!”
Have you ever asked God for a miracle? When you ask God, He will often give us a set of instructions –a plan. Too often we pray it then sit back and wait for God to do miracles. The Bible tells us it doesn’t work that way. You want a miracle? You are going to receive a set of instructions. Just like God gave Joshua in tearing down the walls of Jericho. God’s plan for our life will often come through unexpected events that force us in a direction we would never gone. As Christians, we don’t believe things happen by chance; instead, we believe God has a plan for our lives.
2. How am I going to use this book in the future? When I was thriving in my career. I thought I was on top of the world. God had blessed me with prestige, position, and power, but I lacked the spiritual discernment to handle it. I drifted away and thought the rules didn’t apply to me. I now know I need to wait on the Lord to give me the right people to be around me, the right place to work, and the right plan to lead my family in a Godly manner. I will remain faithful I thank God for His blessings.
