In A Boat In THE Middle of The Lake

by Patrick and Ruth Schwenk

In the Bible, the disciples were scared when they were in the boat when a storm erupted while Jesus slept. Much like we are when trials hit our life. I am telling you, Jesus, is Lord over the water. He knows the deep. He knows the water. He is leading us through it. He uses the water to discipline us. He is leading us in and through it. And, He is with us in the middle of whatever lake we find ourselves in. Water, with all its waves, can be the place of our greatest anxiety, but it can also be the place of our greatest abundance where God begins something new. Something different and deeper in us. Jesus isn’t shaken by the swirling waves we sometimes find ourselves in. He is Lord over the chaos. We are not alone in a boat in the middle of the lake. And even when Jesus doesn’t stop the chaos around us, He can still the chaos in us. Jesus is with me and you. And while He is not moved by the waves, He is moved by you. His heart is close to ours. Wile we live in a culture that values strength, control, and comfort, God does His greatest work in us through our pain. He transforms us in trials. Are you in a boat in the middle of a lake? Remember, the storm is never where God leaves us. Give him your problem today and let him calm your life.
