Fisherman’s Apprentice

by Dan Floen

The book is based on a true story about the author, Dan Floen. Dan was a regular guy who loved to fish. He went to church and lived a decent life. He was laid off so he and two friends decided to go into business together. The business struggled from the beginning. During this time, he was diagnosed with stage four melanoma. The business continued going south. He decided to give the business over to God. When he did the business started doing better. However, his health continued to decline. He took many rounds of chemotherapy and other experimental drugs. He became a fervent prayer. One day when he was talking to God. God told him that he was going to heal him. He continued with his life exercising and running the business. He had other health problems that would not allow him to take any more chemotherapy. As the doctors scanned his body they found out the tumors were shrinking with no treatment. They could not believe it. He eventually was healed like God said he would do. Floen had to get to the place where all he had was God. God took care of his every need by Floen’s faith. We need to believe and know our God can do anything.
