Every human being is looking for eternity; we are looking for love. We want to be loved and affirmed and cared for, and we want the security and protection that goes along with it. We are looking for Jesus, but we often look in the wrong places and we will never be satisfied until we find Him. In this life there is persecution, but what’s waiting on the other side is where hope is, and that’s what I have faith in.
Jesus proclaimed we are to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. The heart is the place all our thoughts, passions, and our purpose resides. Many times we think we know someone’s heart, but we don’t. The heart is where all our decisions, thoughts, words, and deeds are actually born. The soul is the seat of feelings and emotions. We decide if things make us happy, mad, or anxious. It is our decision maker, our actual will. We have to choose whether we live for God or ourselves through our soul. The mind involves our way of thinking. Sometimes it is good, and other times not so good. Lastly, we have our strength. Strength is our ability to stand firm and persevere. Remember, Jesus said we should love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Can we really do that? Jesus did. I think it is hard for us because of the flesh. But, we can grow in the process of sanctification, giving God more of our heart, more of our soul, and more of ourselves.
I want to love God with more of my being. It is not enough I have a new heart. I have to possess a new mind as well. That is only accomplished through the Holy Spirit. I have to just stop and listen more and talk less.
Have a good week.Don’t stop writting.I enjoy your post.
