This book covers the critical art of rethinking by questioning your opinions while trying to open other people’s minds. Intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn. but in our rapidly changing world, this needs to be tested. Sometimes we must rethink and unlearn to open up a whole new spectrum of learning. In our daily lives, too many of us favor the comfort of conviction over the discomfort of doubt. We listen to opinions that make us feel good, instead of ideas that make us think harder. We see disagreements as a threat to our egos, rather than an opportunity to learn. How often do we surround ourselves with people who have our same opinions? Too often. We think too much like preachers defending our sacred beliefs, prosecutors proving the other side is wrong, and politicians campaigning for approval. The brighter we are, the blinder to our own limitations we can become. I leave you with one thought. If knowledge is power, knowing what we don’t know is wisdom.
